(1) Wrist Rest Metal Backplate Installation Guide

Step 1: First, remove the silicone covers from the screw holes on the bottom case of the keyboard.

Step 2: Align the metal backplate with the bottom case of the keyboard. Using the included L-shaped Allen wrench, tighten the screws clockwise into the designated holes until they reach the red markings underneath. The wrist rest will then be securely attached to the keyboard.

RGB Lighting Bar Definitions:

When switching to the keyboard Actuation point adjustment or Rapid Trigger (RT) sensitivity adjustment, you can check the current setting via the light bar on the left side of the keyboard. The light bar displays 12 diagonal lines (3 long and 9 short) to indicate the current value. The long lines represent the integer part, while the short lines represent the first decimal place. For example, when the actuation point is set to 1.6mm, one long RGB-lit line and six short white-lit lines will be illuminated. The smaller the value, the shorter the actuation distance.

5. Keyboard Mode Operation Instructions

1. Speed Tap

Press and hold Fn + Caps Lock for 1 second to activate. When activated, the corresponding keys will briefly flash white. By default, the A and D keys are enabled. Pressing the combination again will flash red, indicating that Speed Tap is turned off.

After enabling the Speed Tap (SOCD) feature, when opposite direction keys are pressed simultaneously, the system will prioritize the most recent input.
This ensures your character moves smoothly during intense gameplay, allowing instant direction changes without needing to release the previous key first.

For more information about the Speed Tap mode, please refer to: ROG Keyboard Tecknology: Rappid Trigger, Speed Tap

Speed Tap Off: On a standard gaming keyboard, pressing two opposing directional keys simultaneously results in no movement being registered, with your character remaining stationary as long as both keys are held down. To resume movement in a particular direction, the opposite key must first be released.

Speed Tap On: With Speed Tap enabled, the system prioritizes the most recent input when opposing directions are pressed. This ensures your character keeps moving seamlessly during intense gameplay, allowing for instantaneous direction changes without needing to release the previous key.

2. Rappid Tigger
You can toggle the Rapid Trigger function using the switch located at the top-left corner of the keyboard. By default, this feature applies only to the WASD keys. To enable Rapid Trigger for other keys, you can configure the settings through Gear Link.

Enabling Rapid Trigger mode makes keyboard operation more responsive. It allows you to input and release key commands continuously at speeds far beyond those of standard keyboards. With just a slight lift of your fingertips, keys reset quickly, providing a significant advantage in competitive FPS gaming.

For more information about the Rapid Trigger mode, please refer to: ROG Keyboard Tecknology: Rappid Trigger, Speed Tap

3. Performance Mode Switching

When switching modes using Fn + `, the sequence of modes is: "Normal Mode (Default) -> Zone Mode -> Power Saving Mode -> Normal Mode".

Our performance mode has three options (including Zone mode). Please see the descriptions below:

Normal Mode (Default):The keyboard will flash bright cyan with a flow effect. In this mode, the keyboard will intelligently balance performance and power consumption, allowing you to enjoy both gaming performance and battery longevity.

Zone Mode:The keyboard will flash electro-violet with a flow effect. In this mode, the RGB lighting on the keyboard will be turned off, and the Q, W, E, R, A, S, D, F, L-Ctrl, and Space keys will have their polling rate boosted to 8K, maximizing performance.

Power Saving Mode:The keyboard will flash green with a flow effect. In this mode, the keyboard will reduce the polling rate to extend usage hours.

*You can use Gear Link to customize the default polling rate for each key in both Normal mode and Zone mode; however, the power saving mode cannot be adjusted separately.
*In both Zone mode and power saving mode, the RGB lighting effects are disabled and cannot be adjusted.

6. Q&A

Q1: Can I customize the color of RGB lighting bar on the keyboard?

A1: Yes, the color of the lighting bar is customizable with Gear Link. You can also personalize the lighting effect of each key.

Q2: Why doesn't the keyboard respond when I use my own Type-C to Type-C cable to connect the left and right halves of the keyboard?
A2: For optimal signal transmission and safety , please make sure to use the bundled link cable to connect both sides of the keyboard. The keyboard will not function as intended if a third-party Type-C® cable is used to connect both sides of the keyboard.

Q3: Is there any indicators showing the status of Caps and Windows Lock?
A3: Yes, the indicators of Caps and Windows Lock are on the top left corner of ROG Falcata, just below the Rapid Trigger Toggle. The indicators will light up in white when turned on.

Q4: Why does it feel like there’s no effect after enabling the Rapid Trigger toggle?
A4: By default, the Rapid Trigger feature is only enabled for the WASD keys when toggled on. If you need to change which keys the feature applies to, please adjust the settings in Gear Link.

Q5: Can the right side of the keyboard be used independently?
A5: No, the right side cannot be used independently. To use it, please connect it to the left side of the keyboard first.

Q6: Since the right side cannot be used independently, how do I access the Fn key functions when only using the left side?
A6: When using only the left side, the Windows key will automatically function as the Fn key. You can perform combination commands using the Win key—for example, Win key + Z to display the current left-side battery info. If you need to use the Windows key’s original function, please reconnect the right side of the keyboard.

Q7: Will both sides charge simultaneously when connected for charging?
A7: When using a Type-A to Type-C cable (with a Type-C adapter), the power current is lower, so the keyboard will prioritize fully charging the left side first before charging the right side. However, if a Type-C to Type-C cable is used, the higher power delivery allows both sides to charge simultaneously.

Q8: Is this a hot-swappable keyboard? Can I use my own magnetic switch?
A8: Essentially, the magnetic switches are hot-swappable. However, the functionality of the magnetic switches depends on the position of the magnets and the compatibility with the Hall Sensor. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the magnetic switches currently available on the market will function properly on the ROG Falcata. Nonetheless, if third-party switches with correctly positioned magnets become available in the future, they should theoretically work after calibration. We are actively monitoring this issue and invite you to stay tuned for our latest updates.

Q9: Can I use any L shaped wrench? What is the size of this?
A9: The screws on the wrist rest backplate are H2 hex screws. You can use any screwdriver that matches this size to secure them..

Q10: Can I adjust the RGB lighting brightness?
A10: Yes, press Fn + Up or Fn + Down to tune lighting brightness.

Q11: Does the ROG Falcata come with omni receiver?
A11: No, ROG Falcata does not come with omni receiver.

Q12: Why can’t other device use this dongle?
A12: ROG Falcata can achieve an wireless 8K polling rate via dongle without the need for the ROG Polling Rate Booster. Due to design differences, it currently does not support older models.
