[Notebook]Media Sanitization-Introduction

ASUS provides a data erasure feature within the Bioses environment. Users can follow simple instructions to erase data from storage devices, including system files, user information, and more. This feature helps improve efficiency when reusing or redeploying machines.
Note: This function performs a full wipe of all data and files. It does not support selectively erasing specific files or blocks. Please confirm this action before proceeding.
Notebook: Models with Intel ARL platform or later/AMD Gorgon Point platform or later.
Gaming NB: Models with Intel PTL platform or later/AMD Gorgon Point platform or later.
1. Advanced① > VMD setup menu > Set "Enable VMD controller" to Disabled②
2. Save & Exit① > Save Changes and Exit②
1. Security① > Media Sanitization②.
2. Select the storage device to be erased③.
3. Choose the sanitization method④ (currently available: Clear or Purge) and Select "Start This Device Sanitization"⑤.
4. A confirmation prompt will appear, select "Yes" to continue⑥.
5. The system will begin data sanitization.
6. Upon completion, the result will be displayed as follows:
7. If the process fails, retry a few times or check if the storage device is functioning properly.
The Media Sanitization function meets the guideline NIST 800-88. It is a document issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the United States.
